VENTILATION IN DOUBLE GLAZED WINDOW FRAMES
Ventilation in double glass window frames
Double glazing is more and more effective in terms of insulation, but to have a healthy home, air must circulate. In order to obtain this, ventilations can be placed in your existing window frames. This is the cheapest and safest way to ventilate your home.
How to ventilate your home well?
Lack of ventilation in a home can quickly create serious humidity problems. This results in condensed window panes or worse, the presence of fungi (dematiaceae) on cold walls. As window frames and glazing are much more insulating than in the past, condensation problems may arise when replacing old frames or placing double glazing. This is why it is important to regularly ventilate your home.
Opening windows at least a quarter of an hour a day has a beneficial effect, but it may not be enough. For example, your mattress takes more than a day to dry. In the space of a week a person “sweats” +/- 10 liters of water overnight. In order not to leave your windows constantly open and to avoid thefts that would not be covered by your insurance, there is a simple and effective solution to ventilate your home.
The Renson grid
To continuously ventilate your home, the Belgian company Renson manufactures flat ventilator grids with thermal break which are installed on your double glazing in any wooden, aluminum or PVC frame. Discreet and aesthetic, they exist in several colors and blend perfectly with the look of your chassis.
To place them, it is necessary to remove your existing double glazing and replace it with a shorter one which will be topped with a ventilation grille. The assembly is then fixed in your frame. For your comfort, Renson grilles are equipped with a mechanical switch which makes it very easy to open or close the ventilation grilles.
